2023 Sustainability Report

In the current context, sustainability is a necessity. As a leading company in the marble and natural stone sector, we present the 2023 Sustainability Report, which summarizes the results achieved and our future ambitions, following the GRI guidelines and ESRS standards.

In the 2023 Sustainability Report, we wanted to emphasize our commitment to reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency. A concrete example of this commitment is the installation of over 9,900 photovoltaic panels at our facilities, with a generation capacity of over 2 Megawatts. This allows us to cover more than a third of our energy needs using renewable energy. The Carbon Footprint assessment shows that our internal emissions account for only 4% of the total, demonstrating the effectiveness of our environmental policies. The analysis by the Polytechnic University of Turin shows that “Fior di Pesco Carnico” has an emissions impact approximately 75% lower compared to ceramic tiles.

In addition to focusing on energy efficiency, we have made significant investments in water resource management and the circular economy. In 2022, we drew 114,925 cubic meters of water from wells and 5,223 cubic meters from the aqueduct, successfully reducing waste through the use of advanced purification and recycling plants. The new purifier installed at our headquarters in Chiampo has improved water reuse in production processes, further reducing our environmental impact. We are also strongly committed to integrated circular economy management, aiming to reuse production waste to minimize waste. We recycle almost all raw material scraps in other sectors, thereby contributing to more sustainable resource management. Moreover, as members of the CO.TRIM. consortium, we manage marble waste to ensure proper disposal, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable waste management.

The health and safety of our employees are another fundamental pillar of our corporate sustainability. Despite recording 1292,5 hours of absence due to injuries in 2023, we are determined to further improve our occupational health and safety management by pursuing ISO 45001:2018 certification. We also demonstrate a strong employee retention capacity, with a turnover rate of 14% and an average age of 43 years. Our compensation policies, which are above the national average, foster a stable and motivating work environment.

We manage operations sustainably and with active stakeholder engagement, promoting socially responsible practices. Throughout the year, we conducted surveys to gather feedback from staff and other stakeholders, integrating their opinions into our sustainability strategies. We offer numerous benefits to nternal collaborators, such as a health prevention plan and local partnerships, demonstrating our commitment to social protection and welfare.

Our 2023 Sustainability Report is not just an exercise in transparency but a concrete commitment to a sustainable future. The data highlights a well-defined strategy and tangible actions to reduce environmental impact, promote economic efficiency, and ensure social well-being. With the hope of continuing to demonstrate that sustainability can be a central element of corporate success, we invite you to download and review the full document by clicking here.
